Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself;
is not puffed up; does not behave rudely; does not seek it's own, is not provoked,
thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
Bears all things, Believes all things, Hopes all things, Endures all things. Love never fails.~ 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Homemade Laundry Detergent

Tonight I made laundry detergent for around $6.  A friend of mine made a batch and she loved it... Said it cleans just as good!

Here are the Instructions!

Happy about all the money I just saved!

Chocolate Chip Cookies with a Twist

The other night I had a craving for cookies, of course the craving won and I made a batch....

I used this recipe from the MOMYS cookbook. Because I didn't have very many choc chips (not sure how this happened) I added about half a cup of oats and one banana. Turned out really yummy if you ask me! ;-)

 Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies

  •  1 cup real butter softened
  •  3/4 Cup sugar
  •  3/4 Cup brown sugar, packed
  •  2 Eggs
  •  1 TBS Vanilla or Almond extract
  •  1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
  •  1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  •  1 tsp Salt
  •  2 1/2 Cups flour (tastes great with whole-wheat flour)
  •  Chocolate Chips (as many as you want)

 Combine butter and sugars until smooth, add egg and extract, them combine well. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix until well combined. Add Chocolate chips. (and anything else you desire) Scoop by TBS onto cookie sheet. Bake @350 for 10 min or until golden brown.

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while.... Life is busy and we are doing great!! Hopefully another post will come sooner than later. No promises though! ;-)

Homemade bread

This past Sunday I finally fulfilled the desire I have been having to make some homemade bread.

I also wanted to use my new mixer *Grin* ( A big thank you to my in-laws!)

So I got busy and whipped some up...

I made one round because I only have one loaf pan... I liked it better - more crust! I added more seasoning and olive oil too!

Letting it rise...

Finished loaf.

Finished round.

Only problem is, as of this morning it's gone! Guess that means the hubby likes it!
